Ripley's Believe It Or Not

Founded by Robert LeRoy Ripley in 1918 as Champs and Chumps for the New York Globe Ripley's Believe It Or Not is as popular now as it ever has been. Today they have over 50 attractions in 13 states with over 20,000 photographs, 20,000 artifacts and more than 130,000 cartoon panels in their collection.

As a kid I could not get enough of the books that featured Ripley's unique comics of odd information. I didn't realize until today that they still publish a daily comic which is exactly like a page in those books.

Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies

The fantastic food blog Coconut & Lime was created by Rachel Rappaport and below is my attempt at one of her hundreds of original recipes that she posts daily.


This is what I needed to get started (and flour and sugar but it was a little camera shy)

Here is the process and the final product.

The cookies had a lot of zing from the cayenne pepper so I decided what better way to cool it off than some vanilla ice cream.
