Chicago's Original Amusement Park

Riverview park operated from 1904 to 1967 on Chicago's north side. Of the nearly 50 rides that Riverview boasted at it's peak only one is still is operation. It is the Riverview Carousel located in Six Flags Over Georgia.

Amusement Ride Accidents

Who doesn't love going to an amusement park? There is no comparing the thrill you get from such a controlled environment. There is that off chance though that something could go wrong. The blog below tells, in great detail, every amusement ride accident dating back to 1998. There are roller coaster derailments, inflatable bounce castles blowing away with people still inside, and the county fair rides that were just not put together right, it's all there. I promise that you will be amazed and a little creeped out by how many of these "incidents" occur but you never hear a word.

Santa's Village Amusement Park - Abandoned

I traveled to East Dundee, IL and captured these pictures in 2006. This was a regional theme park that operated from 1959-2006. There has been talk to relocate Santa's Village to Utica, IL. This would add to the already booming area of Starved Rock State Park.
