Illinois State Fair Food

It's inching towards the end of Summer and that can mean only one thing...it's state fair time. In one week from today I'll be heading down to Springfield to take in the usual sights as well as some new ones.

Mexican Hot Chocolate Cookies

The fantastic food blog Coconut & Lime was created by Rachel Rappaport and below is my attempt at one of her hundreds of original recipes that she posts daily.


This is what I needed to get started (and flour and sugar but it was a little camera shy)

Here is the process and the final product.

The cookies had a lot of zing from the cayenne pepper so I decided what better way to cool it off than some vanilla ice cream.
