Intensities In Ten Suburbs

I have listed Andrew Unterberger's, of Twisted Misters (World Series of Pop Culture) fame, blog Intensities in Ten Suburbs on my blogroll for some time but have never given it full on blog entry respect.

He blogs frequently on all things popular culture and has been working on a definitive list of the top 100 songs of the 00's. He blogs in way too much detail about songs that just don't matter that much but I guarantee you will like it.

Founded by Robert LeRoy Ripley in 1918 as Champs and Chumps for the New York Globe Ripley's Believe It Or Not is as popular now as it ever has been. Today they have over 50 attractions in 13 states with over 20,000 photographs, 20,000 artifacts and more than 130,000 cartoon panels in their collection.

As a kid I could not get enough of the books that featured Ripley's unique comics of odd information. I didn't realize until today that they still publish a daily comic which is exactly like a page in those books.

The site is a database of all the abandoned malls scattered throughout the United States. I think everyone has that local mall that was there one day and then the next thing you know it's gone.
