Karl Rove Is A Weird Dude

The New York Times did an interview with Karl Rove and each one of his answers were shorter and stranger than the last. I would have hated to be this interviewer...awkward. Below is my favorite back and forth.

Are you going to send him (Obama) a little note congratulating him?

I already have. I sent it to his office. I sent him a handwritten note with funny stamps on the outside.

What kind of funny stamps?

Stamps.

Oooookay.

A Tough Assessment Of Sarah Palin

This is a really interesting article on the true crazyness that was John McCain's pick of Sarah Palin as running mate.

"(She) didn't know Africa was a continent. Couldn't name the member nations of NAFTA, even though they're the immediate neighbors of the United States. And, by the way, she was never shy about parroting the crap she had been programmed with about trade, and what a genius she was on the subject because she was from a state near Russia. Or something. Also.

But think about what this means, and what almost happened to this country. Frankly, the people who knew this about her and were still directly responsible for "vetting" her, putting her on the ticket, attempting to foist this idiot on the American people, and protecting her while there was still a chance (however theoretical) that she could become Vice President and possibly President of the United States ought to be arrested and tried for treason."

Michael Moore on Barack Obama

This is Michael Moore expressing his thoughts on the significance of a Barack Obama presidency.
From an interview on Time.com:

Personally, the opportunity to vote for someone like Barack Obama will be one of the greatest things I will have done in my life. The Republicans aren't kidding when they say he's the "most liberal" senator in the Senate. When have we ever had the chance to vote for the "most liberal" of anything?

When I was a child, my parents took us on vacation in the South and I saw the signs over rest rooms that said "Coloreds" and "Whites." I saw the pain in my mother's face that she even had to explain something like that to me in the United State of America. My mother didn't live to see this moment, but I have, and it will be a bit emotional when and if he is declared the winner. I know I will cry a tear or two when I think of all who suffered at the hands of a racist nation. Redemption is always a wonderful thing.

The Main Thing To Watch This Election Day

From Time.com:

Three key states — Virginia, Indiana and Ohio — have polls that close by 7:30 p.m. ET. If Obama wins just one of these, McCain's chances go from slim to next-to-none. If Obama wins two or three, look for early talk of a Democratic rout. But if McCain takes all three, to channel Dan Rather, the night will be as long as the first-place winner in a BeyoncĂ©–Jessica Simpson hair-extension contest.

Chevy Chase on Tina Fey

I just had to share this. It's a quote from Chevy Chase. He was asked about the whole Tina Fey-Sarah Palin thing on SNL. He basically panned Palin on her appearance. This was his advice for Fey.
"I think Tina Fey's in a lot of trouble," he laughed. "Because after Jerry Ford lost, I made about $80 million. Are you kidding? You're talking to the wrong guy here. Tina's great!"
So there you go. The rise of Tina Fey is imminent.
